[The Gear, for once, isn't being carried by a certain Jynx; instead it's in the claws of Sojobo, the Murkrow, circling down as Heiji is leaving the Azalea gym. Heiji stops to hold the door open for Baskerville, who struts out into the blazing sun with his head and whiplike tail high; a few curls of smoke follow him out the door, and through the open door there's a brief glimpse of Yuki the Jynx using Powder Snow to help a couple Surskit put out the last few small fires around the arena-area before she hurries to catch up, and Heiji lets the door shut behind her.]

[Yuki takes the Gear camera duties back from the Murkrow, the camera jostling as it's handed off, then Sojobo settles on Heiji's shoulder; Heiji grins to the camera, tossing the Hive Badge in the air with one hand and catching it - while Sojobo doesn't go for it or even really move from staying puffed comfortably on his trainer's shoulder, you can see one red eye following the Badge's movement.]

Yanno, I can only hope all th'Gyms go that easily.

Before I head out, anybody got any information on th'Goldenrod gym and th'road between here an'there? I wasn't in th'city real long last time, an' we'd taken th'shortcut from Violet, so this's my first time down in this area'f Johto.

Don't get lost in the forest, it's boring in there.

Worst comes to worst, I can send Sojobo up t'get bearings. People get lost in there often?

From what I hear, yeah. Since it's a forest so thick you can hardly tell if it's day or night. So if your Sojobo is some flying type pokémon, who knows if that'll help you at all.

Hunh. How well traveled are th'paths that actually lead out?

Depends who's been throughtit recently. I mean I churned through that forest on the back of an Onix, but that was two months ago. Still, shouldn't be impossible to find.

Well, then - if Sojobo can't get high enough t'see which direction's which, an' I can't find th'trail, Bas might be able t'find th'roads by scent. []

Sure. It's not horrifyingly difficult to get through that forest or anything, it's just not something handed to you on a platter. Anyone who isn't an idiot about it can do it, I think.

Well, then, we shouldn't have too much trouble. Might come back an'go explorin' a bit sometime when I'm not tryin' t'get somewhere, though.

Really? Exploring the finer parts of a forest for fun?

Why not? Y'never know what's out there, an' sometimes there's interesting stuff off th'beaten path anywhere.

Yeah? What're you expecting to find?

Who knows? Could be some kind of unusual pokémon, could be someplace people haven't found here yet, or other ruins, or somethin' that'd give a clue t'how an'why we're all here. Could say that for a lot'f the weird caves an' places that're big, empty, an'a pain to get around.

A clue to why we're here in the middle of a forest.

Really?

Why not? Odds're good that whatever happened that brought us here, th'potential for it t'happen has existed before - th'scientists here are no help, but if there's been any past incidents, then there might be somethin' older that'd say somethin'...an' if none of us know about it yet, then it's probably off in some weird corner of the wilderness where it's a pain in th'ass t'get to. And even if there isn't somethin' like that there, there's still no tellin' what could be around that people just haven't tripped over yet.

...uuh-huh. Whatever, I guess, if that's fun for you.
