It depends on if they're tame or not. You definitely don't want to mess with a mother and her pups, but the ones in the village were always very loyal.

[Lapras began to keen and croon happily, managing to get to Katara with surprising speed and nuzzle it's head against hers. Being as it was still young it wasn't as big as a full grown Lapras, but it was eager and happy to meet it's trainer and still pretty big considering.
