[The feed clicks on to (1) disgruntled looking Osakan, who's already wandered off out on Route 29 in the middle of the night...]

[He hasn't gotten very far.]

[He's sopping wet and muddy and he's sitting half-cross-legged at the base of one of the ledges, in a puddle, with a visible scrape mark behind him from apparently skidding down the slope.]

[There's a largeish squirming shape that's taken up residence in his jacket, with a near-constant whining, and in the background up above can be heard a rapid-fire "RAATTATTTTATTT" scolding angrily.]

'Kay. Seriously.

What the HELL is going on?! This ain't Osaka, that wasn't my house, I don't even KNOW that lady, an' the damn book didn't give a single clue what the Hell or how I got here or where on EARTH this is-

[The scolding Rattata up above has moved from scolding to audibly strutting; Heiji scowls.]

.....Oh when this rain clears an' SOMEBODY stops bein' a wuss- [He's glaring sidelong up the hill...]

At least he's friendly then. We have animals like that back home, but they're Polar dogs.[Oh, right! That older gentleman back in that CREEPY TOWN said that she might have one in a "Pokeball" waiting to say hi. Well, Pokeball sounded like Pokemon, so it must be related to the creatures that she'd seen all around and this guy had with him now. Right? Right.]

There wasn't one anywhere near me when I woke up, but I did see some weird little balls in this bag that woman gave me, and the guy in town said something about Pokeballs. [She sets said bag down and takes a seat so that she can dig in it properly. There seems to be some shelter from the rain here so-- She draws them out, noticing that one of them is already bigger than the others. She stares at it for a moment, then looks at him.] I guess this would be hers. I can't imagine how something his size could fit into one of these, though. [She just assumes hers is a girl, she doesn't know why.]

Polar Dogs, eh? Don't sound friendly.

[] Maahhhh...

It makes no sense t'me how they'd fit in there, but bein' here doesn't make any sense either, an' I'm not even gonna try and figure out a fire-breathing dog, so it's probably worth just rolling with it for now...

[] An' there's only one button on the things. []

It depends on if they're tame or not. You definitely don't want to mess with a mother and her pups, but the ones in the village were always very loyal.

[Wait. The DOG can bend but she can't?! TWITCH.

LEANING LEANING WHAT-- Oh. OKAY THEN.]

I guess I'm supposed to press it then.

[Which she promptly does, pointing it away from them intuitively. If something big was going to come out she didn't want it LANDING on them. And what emerges is indeed fairly big.

And blue.

And looks like a turtle snake.

Oh God what is this it's so...

CUTE!!! And for a moment Katara's mouth just makes a small "O" shape.]

Wow.... so that's MY Pokemon?

[And then the gear that was on her lap where she'd put it down beeps, because it's pointed right at the blue creature.]

"Lapras, the transport Pokémon. It ferries people across the sea on its back. It may sing an enchanting cry if it is in a good mood."

[Lapras began to keen and croon happily, managing to get to Katara with surprising speed and nuzzle it's head against hers. Being as it was still young it wasn't as big as a full grown Lapras, but it was eager and happy to meet it's trainer and still pretty big considering. Katara laughed because it tickled and she was surprised, but happy.] Ah, hey! That tickles! I'm happy to meet you too!

She's pretty big for being a baby! [Katara grins, excited, how fitting! A water type he'd said, and it made sense with the description. She hugs Lapras's nose a bit when she gets close enough, then rubs the top of it gently.] I'm Katara, I guess we're partners now, huh girl?

[The Lapras' response is to sort of bay happily, then carefully swing her head towards Heiji and bump her nose against his hand. She's friendly and harmless to anyone that isn't causing problems for Katara.]

That makes our Pokemon opposite types though, doesn't it? I hope she isn't making him nervous.

I think the weather's gettin' to Bas more than anything; he was fine 'till I walked outside an' he saw the rain, then he got spazzy. Dunno if I blame him, it's pourin' buckets out here, an' I guess bein' part fire makes it suck more.

[Lapras definitely likes the attention. :D SNIFFING. HEY, I'M HUNGRY NOW THAT I HAVE GREETED YOU BOTH.]

[Aww, Houndour! Katara starts looking in her bag for something to feed Lapras, who doesn't seem to care at all that she's too big to be covered properly from the rain.] Poor little guy, I guess they don't go back into the Pokeballs once they're out?

... [Blink. Realization and an embarrassed smile.] Oh! I'm so sorry, I totally forgot to actually introduce myself! I'm Katara.

[Heiji Hattori, that's a long name you have there! Not too bad though.]

So they do? Well, I guess it's worth a try in any case, but I don't think she seems to mind. [Indeed Lapras looks pretty happy to be getting wet. Katara glances around for better shelter. The ledge really isn't offering much, if any, and she'd left her tree to approach you once she'd manage to spot you.]

((What? Wow, D: that's the first I heard about any attack. That's horrible! Seems like more and more sites getting hit these days. Target just emailed me about something similar. :| Ugh. Scary.))

You have a point. [Though Katara could definitely go for some warmth against the rain's chill right then. She can't help but laugh at the surprised look on Heiji's face after watching him and his Pokemon scramble a bit there.] Hey, are you alright? [Managing at least that much between laughs.] We should still get out of this rain or we'll both get sick.

((=___= How very annoying. *sighs* At least the site isn't dead completely, though. I feel bad for them having to clean this up.))

[It's pretty impressive, the things that this place has, the Pokeballs, the Pokegear, now if only this weather wasn't so horrible--]

Yeah, but that woman locked the door behind me when I got outside, and it didn't look like there were many homes there. We'd probably do better to find a tree big enough to sleep under.

[Katara's quite used to roughing it even without a sleeping bag, that's one thing going for her in this situation. She looks at Heiji curiously, wondering if he did. Come to think of it, even dirty his clothes looked really strange, but like most of the people she's been seeing since ending up in this situation. You're dressed almost similar to Heather.]

Um, are you from a place called the United States of America too?

[Agreed on that, Heiji. Very much. While you answer Katara turns to Lapras to give her more affectionate pats on the nose, but then mimics Heiji's action to call her back-- just for now! She doesn't plan to chance her getting sick either. Mother hen. She looks at Heiji a little surprised and a little not. Talking to heather helped a lot, you see.] Japan? I've never heard of that either. I'm from the Southern Water Tribe, but we were in the Earth Kingdom heading for the Fire Nation until I wound up here.

[] It's a bunch of islands that're across an ocean west of America. [] There've been a few wars in the past, but nowadays the countries're pretty friendly, for the most part...

Never heard of any of those places myself - I guess this makes that whole "other world" thank more likely, eh?
